Hangover Cure: Under the Tuscan Sun, with Murder

This weekend, have a laugh with friends--I mean, a podcast; watch Toni Collette be amazing as per usual in a truly weird and wild movie; and treat yourself to Trixie Mattel.

Hey, hi, hello, Happy Friday. If you’re getting this in your inbox, you’re a paid subscriber of Hugging the Bar, and let me just say, I appreciate you so much! And one of the ways I’m saying “thank you” is with this little weekly round-up of fun, non-beer recs. So, without further ado…!

LISTEN: Threedom Podcast

It can be embarrassing as a full adult in your thirties to admit you like a podcast because it feels like you’re hanging out with your friends, but if I can’t tell you, my dear newsletter subscribers, these things, who can I tell? Lolz. Anyway, Threedom is just such a reliable good time, I believe anyone’s day would get a bit brighter with a listen.

The “three” in Threedom is Paul F. Tompkins, Lauren Lapkus, Scott Aukerman, three comedian-actor-writer-humans you may well know from other things. Every episode is really them just shooting the shit, and ending with a sort of improv game, which tbh is the only “meh” of it all for me. I prefer to get lost in their conversations, because, for one thing, they’re truly good friends irl and their chemistry is really kinda heartwarming. And, wow, don’t you just love listening to bonkers funny people doing…anything? Like, people who can make a story about a trip to the grocery store an epic tale that has you in stitches? I can’t get enough of being able to marvel at the talent of folks like that, and enjoy every bananas story along the way.
