Hi Courtney, thanks for writing about the subject of WHY am I choosing what I'm choosing. I think it is a really changeable thing, both the reasons why and the thing we reach for. At our bottle shop here in Stevens Point we are getting ready to feature "House Beers and House Wines". This is a subject we love to talk about and I think it is closely connected to your subject of emotions and the choices we make because of them. As consumers, we put a lot on the bottle/can we want to drink. The beverage must tick off many boxes, sometimes. The beauty of the "House" bottle is that it ideally ticks off the most important boxes to the buyer. What is the beer/wine you want to drink after work mid-week? What is a bottle you want to bring to a friends for dinner on a moments notice, and be proud to share? What's versatile with food? What makes us happy when sad? What bottle understands our sadness when we're sad? What bottle can be both easy & familiar yet also complex and adventurous?

All that said...your newsletter (as per usual) is inspiring, thoughtful, informative and fun. It leaves me asking more questions, and that's a good thing. Thank you!

Thanks so much for reading and for sharing this, Keith! I totally agree, and think this is all really strongly connected to what you're thinking about when you're curating a "House Beer" and "House Wine." We do want all those boxes ticked, and ticked in the right ways at the right times for what we're feeling! I so appreciate your thoughts, and thanks for your kind words--cheers!
